“There are multiple CAM programs available for designing your projects. Generally, people become familiar with one and stick with that. As far as selecting the right one for you, my advice is this. Most software companies have free trial. Thirty-day trials are common. Take advantage of these trial periods and test the software out. Then at the end, decide if you want to try another or stick with your best one. I would advise you try out at least three different packages” Ivan also spends some time talking about the difference between two dimensional computer aided design software and three dimensional computer aided design software.

A new CAD webpage has now been added to the popular CNC website that has all of the CAD basics and CAD information that one would need when trying to learn CAD. CAD, or as some call it, Computer Aided Design or Computer Aided Drafting is one of the first steps in the Computer Numerical Control process. On this new webpage, Ivan talks about the history of Computer Aided Design and how it began in the 1960’s. Before Computer Aided Design, most designs were done by hand, which if you were a manufacturer looking for a way to product the same product over and over again, with little variation, a hand drawn design was troublesome. Since Computer Aided Design was introduced, there have been great gains in designing and then manufacturing parts and objects in various industries, Computer Numerical Control just being one of them. New CAM Software webpage has just been Released on Computer Aided Machining Site

Ivan has been working hard to add a section of his website dedicated to CAM Software or Computer Aided Machining Software. Since Computer Aided Manufacturing Software is not a step you can avoid when you are working with Compute Numerical Control, it was pertinent that Ivan add a section to his website that gave users a look inside different CAM Software’s. CAM Software is not to be confused with CAD or Computer Aided Design Software. They are similar but very different in the Computer Numerical Control world of software. Computer Aided Machining Software will take the design you made in your Computer Aided Design Software and use it to turn it into something your Computer Numerical Control Machine can understand. The one thing that’s tough about Computer Aided Manufacturing Software is that there are many different brands and versions to choose from. Thank goodness, usually companies give 30-day trials so you can really see if the look and feel of the Computer Aided Machining software is right for you.
