CNC Art Project and CNC Art Files now Available on CNC Information Website

CNC Art Files can now be found on the CNC Plasma Art category page on CNCInformation.com. The CNC Art Project finished up a previously started CNC Art Project on a CNC Made Stomp Pad.

CNC Art Project has just been completed by Ivan Irons and CNCInformation.com. His CNC Plasma Art project on a snowboard stomp pad is now officially complete on his new CNC Art Files webpage. The video’s have been released for about a month or so, however, they had yet to be posted on Ivan’s CNC Plasma Art page on this website. Video’s 1-5, along with their transcripts, were released last week. The video’s can be viewed on his website.

Not only has Ivan released the stomp pad art videos, he has also created and released transcripts of each video. He hopes these transcripts will aid in the learning process by giving the DIY CNCer a reference for future learning. View the videos as well as future projects by Ivan Irons on his CNCInformation website.

Video 6: Ivan shows how he zeros out the cnc plasma cutter and starts cutting the aluminum stomp pad.

Video 7: In this video Ivan rough grinds the cnc stomp pad to remove the dross.

Video 8: Ivan sands our CNC Stomp Pad with a Dual Action (DA) sander.

Video 9: In this video the holes are drilled in the CNC Stomp Pad. We bend the stomp pad while drilling and we must hammer it flat next.

Video 10: In this video, Ivan goes over the final assembly of the stomp pad. Then we watch as we used double-sided tape to adhere it to the snowboard.

Stomp Pad Video’s 1-5 and CNC Transcripts Available

Mach3 Video Series, with CNC Control Software, that is on a Stomp Pad from design to completion is now released on a new Category page on CNC Information website. The CNC Control Video’s shows a CNC Project on a Snowboard Stomp Pad through 10 easy to follow videos. Video’s 1-5 now has a transcript for added learning and understanding.

CAM and SheetCAM CNC Video’s are few and far between, but Ivan Irons from the CNC Information website has created and released a 10 step stomp pad Video series that is now located on his website under a CNC Video’s Stomp Pad category page. This page houses all 10 videos from the CNC Stomp Pad Project. Ivan has also taken the time to create transcripts for all 10 videos so viewers can review the step-by-step CNC design process on their own. The new category page can be found at.

Here is a brief description of what each video entails:

Video 1: An overview of the CNC Project that is shot in a tutorial sequence.
Video 2: Ivan uses Adobe Illustrator to sketch it out and prepare the design.
Video 3: This video starts with the design in CAD.
Video 4: Ivan sets the CAM Programming parameters in SheetCam and the GCode is finalized.
Video 5: Ivan reviews the G-Code in Mach3 to ensure there are no problems.

Learn DIY CNC Machining – Hobby CNC Plasma Cutter Videos Released

Ivan Irons has just completed the second phase of a new CNC video tutorial series on a CNC Stomp Pad Project that is shot in sequential steps. This final phase highlights the machining and finishing steps of his project. It is a step-by-step personal account of a CNC project from the design phase to the end product. It contains useful design and machining tips for all CNC enthusiasts.

The video tutorial series was made to take beginner to intermediate CNC hobbyists through the major steps in the CNC process. Ivan narrates each video with technical, yet easy to understand descriptions of the process along with useful personal tips from his CNC experience. Ivan’s video series starts out with the design phase, which includes all of the computer design, CAD, and CAM work. These first four video’s were released earlier in the month and now the conclusion of the project has been released with video’s 5-10 which highlight the CNC plasma cutting, grinding, and end product. If you missed the first four video’s they can be viewed at:
Here is a summary of video’s 5-10:

Video 5: In this video Ivan goes through Mach 3 to look over the g-code. He checks to see if we have any problems before we go to the CNC Plasma Cutter.

Video 6: Ivan heads out to the shop and do some work. He shows how he zeros out the cnc plasma cutter and starts cutting the aluminum stomp pad. Once he is done, the stomp pad gets looked over and he notes the slag or dross we will have to grind off next.

Video 7: In this video Ivan rough grinds the cnc stomp pad to remove the dross. It’s a rough grind because later we will use a DA Sander to smooth it all out.

Video 8: During this CNC Video Segment Ivan sands our CNC Stomp Pad with a Dual Action (DA) sander. The CNC Plasma Cut part then is taken over to a stand. Then Ivan starts to look at different traction spikes and how they will look.

Video 9: In this video the holes are drilled in the CNC Stomp Pad. The holes are drilled and then Ivan cleansthem out.
We bend the stomp pad while drilling and we must hammer it flat next.

Video 10:Here is the final video in the CNC Stomp Pad Tutorial Video Series. In this video, Ivan goes over the final assembly of the stomp pad. Then we watch as we used double sided tape to adhere it to the snowboard. Finally we take a look at some final photos of the CNC Stomp Pad on the Snowboard.

Ivan has created a unique and personalized video tutorial series that that leaves the viewer anticipating the next video in the series. The complete video series from start to finish can be viewed at: CNC Videos

This first release contains 4 design videos:

Video 1: An overview of the CNC Project that is shot in a tutorial sequence. Ivan walks you through the entire process by discussing the Design, CAD, CAM, Control, CNC Plasma Cutting and then final assembly phase.

Video 2: Ivan starts the design of the CNC Stomp Pad. He uses Adobe Illustrator to sketch it out and prepare something that a CNC Plasma Cutter could follow.

Video 3: This video starts with the design in CAD. It gets resized to specific dimensions and then is converted it into a DXF File.

Video 4: In this last design video, Ivan sets the CAM Programming parameters in SheetCam. Next the G-Code for the project gets finalized and you also get a quick look at some CNC Post-Processing.

Ivan has created a unique and personalized video tutorial series that that leaves the viewer anticipating the next video in the series. The second set of video’s showing the machining and final assembly is set to be released at the end of this month.  You can view the video’s at: CNC Videos

CNC Instructable Process

CNC Videos are all around but many of them are not good.  Someone shoots them with their small camera and uploads them.  This series is different.  The guy took the time to provide voiceovers and edit the video.  This CNC Tutorial Series goes through a project from start to finish.  It gives you an idea of the entire process.  From Design to CAD to CAM to Control to Machine.

This instructable also has some follow along text and photos.
