Learn CAD with new CAD Tutorial and CNC Software

Learn CAD may have just gotten easier for the avid CNCer who is trying to understand Computer Aided Design. How you ask? Ivan Irons of CNCInformation.com has just released a new Computer Aided Design webpage that is all about Learning Computer Aided Design. The CNCer who is interested in seeing if this webpage has something for him or her can visit the Learn Computer Aided Design webpage at: CNC Software

On this Learn CAD webpage, Ivan talks about the differences between hand designing various objects or using Computer Aided Design Software. He discusses the advantages and drawback of doing each and stresses that unless you are familiar with Computer Aided Design software, investing in the purchase of the software combined with the time investment of learning the in’s and out’s of the software may not be worth it if its just for a one-time part. See the rest of Ivan’s discussion on learning cad at the new webpage at: CNC Software

Ivan also houses a variety of articles on this learn Computer Aided Design webpage that help the newbie learn further about Computer Aided Design. One particular articles that Ivan has put on his new Learn CAD website is about three dimensional computer aided design. This article tells about the importance of 3D CAD software and its uses in the world today. You can find this article at the bottom of the Computer Aided Design webpage at: CNC

If you are in the market for learning about Computer Aided Design, look no more, and visit Ivan’s website to get the latest, greatest, and easiest CAD information on the market. Check back often as Ivan adds additional content on a regular basis.

CAD Basics CNC Machining and how to Learn CAD

CAD, which stands for Computer Aided Design is an important component in Computer Numerical Control. Ivan Irons has started a new page on his Computer Numerical Control website that is all about CAD Information and CAD Basics for those who are either new to Computer Aided Design, new to Computer Numerical Control CAD, or just want a little bit of a refresher on the basics of Computer Aided Design. You can visit this specific page at: CNC Machining

On his new CAD Information page, Ivan takes users through the basics of CAD and discusses when Computer Aided Design was invented and how it came about that we started using Computer Aided Design in our everyday lives. Computer Aided Design is used in plenty of other industries besides Computer Numerical Control, such as air equipment, machine equipment, house design, landscaping, and the list goes on and on. See some other places CAD is used at Ivan’s CAD Info webpage at: CNC Plasma

Ivan also goes briefly into Computer Aided Design that is two dimensional or 2-D versus Computer Aided Design that is three dimensional or 3-D. Ivan talks about the uses for 2D versus 3D and the trends in the Computer Aided Design world to becoming all three dimensional in the next few years. You can see Ivan’s discussion on CAD 2D versus 3D at: CNC Machines

Also on Ivan’s CAD page are various articles that relate to CAD basics. Some of these articles include a more detailed explanation of what CAD is and how it works. These articles will consistently be updated to reflect the latest and greatest information on CAD in the Computer Numerical Control Industry so check back at Ivan’s website often for the latest information.

CNC Plasma and New CNC Machine Project

Ivan Irons at CNC Plasma has just completed the design phase of a new video tutorial series on a CNC Stomp Pad Project that is shot in sequential steps.  It is a step-by-step personal account of a CNC project from the design phase to the end product. It contains useful design and machining tips for all CNC enthusiasts.

The video tutorial series was made to take beginner to intermediate CNC hobbyists through the major steps in the CNC process. Ivan narrates each video with technical, yet easy to understand descriptions of the process along with useful personal tips from his CNC experience. Ivan’s video series starts out with the design phase, which includes all of the computer design, CAD, and CAM work.

This first release contains 4 design videos:

Video 1: An overview of the CNC Project that is shot in a tutorial sequence. Ivan walks you through the entire process by discussing the Design, CAD, CAM, Control, CNC Plasma Cutting and then final assembly phase. CNC Machine

Video 2: Ivan starts the design of the CNC Stomp Pad. He uses Adobe Illustrator to sketch it out and prepare something that a CNC Plasma Cutter could follow. CNC Router

Video 3: This video starts with the design in CAD. It gets resized to specific dimensions and then is converted it into a DXF File.

Video 4: In this last design video, Ivan sets the CAM Programming parameters in SheetCam. Next the G-Code for the project gets finalized and you also get a quick look at some CNC Post-Processing.

Ivan has created a unique and personalized video tutorial series that that leaves the viewer anticipating the next video in the series. The second set of video’s showing the machining and final assembly is set to be released at the end of this month. The video’s can be viewed at: You can always check on Ivan’s website at  to find his latest CNC projects and video’s.

CAM Process Defined – DIY Computer Aided Manufacturing Tutorial

Ivan Irons at CNC has just completed a new CNC Basic E-Course learning series about the CNC Process. Ivan has just completed video four which is all you need to know about Computer Aided Manufacturing in the series of 6 video’s; video’s 1 thru 4 were previously released. It is a seven part video course that walks an amateur through the basic process of CNC. Those who are beginning to learn CNC will benefit greatly from Ivan’s easy to understand CAM instruction.

The CNC basics E-Course is a video series that was created for the CNC Beginner to give a brief overview of the major steps of the CNC process.  Ivan made sure to use simple language to explain complex processes and narrates each video with his own personal tips included.  The six videos in the basic E-Course will cover the five prominent steps in CNC:

Design

Cad

Cam

Controlling

Machining

The videos in this basics series that have been released can be found at: CNC Videos

Video4:

Ivan focuses video 4 on CAM. CAM stands for Computer Aided Manufacturing. During the CAM step of the CNC Process Ivan uses software to teach how our CNC Machine should move. There are a number of CAM Software packages on the market which Ivan walks the user through in this video. Ivan goes through CAM Software techniques where he defines things like stock, location, tooling, feed and speeds and the post processor in use.

Ivan seems to have a talent for taking a complex topic such as CNC, picking out the most important aspects, and breaking down those topics into laymen terms. Ivan has started a fantastic CNC basic E-course. Video’s 5 and 6 in the series are set to release in January of 2008.

You can find the CNC Basic E-Course Video’s at Ivan’s Blog: CNC Blog.  You can always check on Ivan’s website at CNC Videos to find his latest CNC projects and video’s.
